Before you order:

*Manuscripts need to be complete, fully edited, and in the final (ready to publish) phase. There will be no copyediting or proofreading by the formatter.

*Manuscripts must be in a .doc or .docx form. No PDFs.

*Book covers, interior graphics, maps, family trees, etc. are NOT provided by the formatter.

*Bonus material (Dedication, Also By, About the Author, Teaser Chapters, etc.) must be provided by the author.

*Chapters need to be clearly marked and in the same document.

An invoice will be sent within 1 business day, if formatter can meet your ideal date of completion. If the date is unable to be met, you will receive an email, before any invoice is sent, with an alternative date. If the alternative date is unacceptable, formatter and author will void the contract with NO MONEY CHANGING HANDS.

Upon confirmation that all the material has been received and payment has been made, you will be emailed with a guaranteed dated of completion*.

*Please factor in the time to receive your invoice, to make your payment, the hour of your payment made, and business days into your time table. For example, a payment made at 8:00 pm on a Friday night may not be seen until Monday morning.

When Can I Expect My Formatted Manuscript?

Once your manuscript has arrived with all material needed and the invoice paid, a confirmation email will be sent with the exact date you should expect your finished project.

Revisions

Revisions are changes to the document due to your errors, typos, and/or mistakes. How revisions are counted is up to the formatter, for example the formatter may count 2 small changes as 1 if done at the same time. Manuscripts should be as perfect as possible before submitted for formatting. Any corrections on formatting mistakes do not count against your revision total. Additional revisions can be made for a minimal fee, which will be discussed at the necessary time.

Images

The author supplies all the images. This includes, but is not limited to: graphics, author photos, family trees, and maps. Authors are responsible for having the correct licenses for all graphics. If the formatter is not unable to include the graphic, a partial credit will be refunded.

FAQ

What happens after I place an order?

The formatter will be look over your details, make sure all the material is available, that the deadline can be met, and email you with any questions. You will then receive an invoice via this website. Once the invoice is paid, an email will be sent with a guaranteed date of competition and formatting will begin.

Do I pay before or after the job is complete?

All invoices must be paid in full before formatting is started. If the formatter can not complete the job by the guaranteed deadline for any reason, you will receive a FULL REFUND.

How do I pay?

You will be sent an invoice from Jennifer McMurrain once all material has been received. Follow the instructions on the invoice. All invoices are paid via PayPal.

What genres do you format?

Only fiction novels at this time. Sorry, this does not include illustrated children's books.

What if I notice a mistake after publication?

Manuscripts and source files are kept on file for three months. Revisions can be made up until this time expires. If the author has already reached their three-revision allotment, additional revisions can be made for a minimal fee, which will be discussed at the necessary time. After the three months are over, source files are deleted and the formatter will not be able to make additional changes.

Am I required to have all those formats?

No, you select the formats you need on the form.

What happens to my manuscript after you’re finished?

The formatter holds onto the manuscript for three months. After that, it is deleted. The formatter will not sell, distribute, or share your manuscript.

What do you use to format?

I use a software named Vellum. Due to this, do not expect a format in .doc or .docx forms.

What happens if the formatter can't meet the deadline?

If the formatter can't complete the manuscript by the guaranteed deadline, you will receive a full refund.

What if I don't like the format?

The formatter will work with you to fix what you don't like. If no agreement can be made a partial refund MAY be furnished. This is based on the formatter's discretion. The formatter's top priority is to make sure this doesn't happen. The ONLY time an author is guaranteed a full refund is if the formatter can not make the guaranteed deadline.
